Since forming in the midst of Christchurch's infamously glorious autumn of 2014, three-piece indie / pop rock trio Douglas Ross have already gained a reputation as one of the most exciting and energetic up-and-coming bands to grace their city's reinvigorated music scene.
Having moved south from Wellington, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Josh Logan (Taurus) joined forces with the rhythm section of Moses Robbins (Crab) and Jed Parsons (Leo) - both long-time collaborators and members of rock band House of Mountain. The result of this curious connection is a super-tight yet free and energy focused musical package, with three-part vocal harmonies as the ribbon on top.
Together they are making some of the freshest music to come out of Christchurch - a blend of toe-tapping pop and psychedelic blues rock, drawing on a range of influences from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Grizzly Bear and The Phoenix Foundation to Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. With a back-to-basics approach to their sound, mixed with an innovative attitude towards songwriting and performance, this indie trio is beginning to make waves.
